I selected this novel because it was assigned to me by my teacher. The novel was called "the ten little Indians" but the title was changed before it was published in America because it was supposedly racist. I needed to know the setting, time, and date. They were all sent letter to invite them to Indian island by a unknown person all for a different reason. As the story begins the character are beginning to get describe one at a time. He tells us why there are going to Indian island. The narrator also tells us what there occupation is and a good general description of each one of them. The narrator is telling the story which means its in 3rd person. The narrator explains the character so you can understand the novel better. The setting of this novel is in Devon England. It will then move the setting to the Indian island were all the characters were invited by a letter. The setting is important it gives some background information before u start reading the novel. The main character has a main problem in the beginning he/she does not know who sent the letter to them. The author keeps you reading by ending each one of the paragraphs with suspense. It makes you want to find out what is going to happen next. It keeps you reading to find out the answer to the question. This is my journal entry for chapters 1-4.
